Kwasu Admission Requirements

If you are a candidate seeking for admission into Kwara State University (KWASU), below is the requirements for Kwasu admission:

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age to submit their application. However, exceptions may be considered for candidates who demonstrate exceptional talent.
• A recommendation letter or testimonial from the principal of your previous secondary school is necessary.
• You are required to have a minimum of five (5) credits in relevant subjects from any of the following examinations: WASSCE, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB. These credits should be achieved in no more than two sittings.
• Proficiency in the English language is essential for all programs.
• Additionally, if you are applying to the Faculty of Management Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, or specific Education courses, a credit in Mathematics is also required.

KWASU Screening Exercise for the 2025/2026 Academic Session

Now that you’re aware of the cut off marks for different departments at KWASU, the next step is to get familiar with the screening process.

The admission screening at Kwara State University takes place in two stages, typically within a week or two.

In the first stage, students who are applying must participate in a pre-screening exercise once it is announced.

Due to the large number of applicants for admission to Kwara State University, the process is very competitive, and acceptance is primarily based on JAMB scores. The better your scores, the higher your chances of getting in.

It’s important for candidates to arrive early and find their screening location on time. The screening will assess both the JAMB scores and the SSCE results of the candidates.

Kwasu Post UTME screening requirements

• A letter of good conduct from your village head or a responsible member of the community or civil servant with at least grade level 10 or an equivalent position in the private sector.

How to calculate Kwasu aggregate score.

To calculate your Kwasu aggregate score, you need to consider three key components:

1. UTME Score: First, take your UTME score and divide it by 8 to get the percentage, which accounts for 50% of your total aggregate score.

2. O’Level Points: Next, calculate your O’Level points using the best 5 subjects based on Kwasu’s grading system. This part usually makes up 20% of your aggregate score.

3. Post-UTME Score: Finally, your Post-UTME score generally contributes about 30% to the overall aggregate.

For example:

• If you scored 240 in UTME, earned 80 points for your O’Level, and got 50 in your Post-UTME, here’s how it breaks down:
• UTME Contribution: 240 / 8 = 25 points (which is 50% of the total)
• O’Level Contribution: 80 points (20% of the total)
• Post-UTME Contribution: 50 points (30% of the total) – Total Aggregate Score: 30 + 80 + 60 = 170.
