The Lagos State University is a state owned public university, It was established in 1983 after the Lagos State house of assembly (LSHA) passed a legislature for its establishment.

LASU is situated at Ojo, Lagos. And it has about 40,000 Full-time students.

LASU has three main campuses: One in Ojo, and the other two sub campuses in Ikeja, and Epe, Lagos state.

The main campus is in Ojo which is the center of administration. While the Ikeja campus is mainly for University College of Medicine (LASUCOM).

O-Level Credits: The minimum requirement is five O-level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

How is LASU aggregate score calculated?

LASU cut off mark is calculated by using aggregates score in other to determine applicants who are granted admission in to some departments in a session.

LASU Aggregate score for all courses are calculated using your JAMB Score and your O’level results.

The JAMB score takes 50% of the aggregate score while the O’ level equally takes the remaining 50%. Most importantly, five (5) main subjects are used in calculating the 50% of O’ level results which includes English, Mathematics, and three other important subjects relevant to the course or department you’re applying for.

To calculate the aggregate score for JAMB, You will divide your JAMB score by 8 (400/8) to get the value for the JAMB 50%.

Take for instance, if you score 270 in JAMB, you can just divide it buy 8 which is 33.75% out of 50%.

To calculate the remaining 50%, you will make use of grading system for your O’level results.

That means you have of 41% in your JAMB Score

Now you will add the two scores JAMB and O’level together to get the aggregate which is then used to determine your departmental Cut Off Mark.

NB: It is very important for you to know that having below C6 in any of your 5 compulsory subjects could disqualify you from participating in the screening exercise.
